Police Department Updates

  • Lieutenant Naroz: slight increase in violent crime; 36 precinct crimes YTD vs same period 2021; property crimes up more (462 vs 397); Hondas, Prius, church vans targeted for theft; David.naroz@rva.gov.

5th District and Maymont Updates

  • Amy Robins (for Stephanie Lynch): Byrd Park paving early April; elderly/disabled tax relief and scam warnings; budget/CIP details coming; protected bike lanes Allen, Harrison/Colorado; April 27, 6pm 5th District Town Hall; RVA 311; street cleaning TBD; sidewalk project on hold.

  • Betsy Carr: recent GA session; excessive noise bill passed; no budget yet—special session expected.

  • Parke Richeson: ~850,000 visitors; Mansion reopened with expanded historical interpretation; Stone Barn renovations; baby animals (goats, lambs); Herbs Galore April 30; Dominion Easter April 16; Summer Kick Off May 6; Mutts May 21 and June 18; Beer and Wine Classic June 11; Arts in the Park April 30.

General Community Notes

    • Membership $10/household—scholarships, block parties, food bank donations.

    • Weekly Wednesday walks starting March 30, Pennsylvania and Greenville; kids and pets welcome.
