Police Department Updates
Lieutenant Woo: crime low, 64% decrease; NextDoor not fully visible to officers—report through official channels; new internet security / police app coming; continued police presence at Texas Beach.
5th District and Maymont Updates
Parke Richeson: project-based learning educators at Maymont; 625 students at Girls Day and STEM Day; 3,050 city kids educated (many Title I); Spring Break; Family Easter April 20; Herbs Galore April 27; Beer and Wine Classic; Mother’s Day Tea May 11; Music at Maymont including Trampled by Turtles June 21, Carbon Leaf July 13; Jazz Festival August 10–11.
Betsy Carr: General Assembly session overview.
Amy Robins: James River Park System Master Plan discussion Thursday, February 7, 6pm Patrick Henry School; February 28, 6:30pm Round House—North of Broad Coliseum and tax relief applications; cleanups and speeding/car break-ins on radar.
