Police Department Updates
Mark Brandon reminded neighbors to use 311 for reports.
5th District and Maymont Updates
Patrick Sapini thanked constituents and looked forward to working with neighborhood associations.
Amy Robins addressed drainage issues in the neighborhood.
Parke Richeson: Maymont Children’s Farm opens in March; Maymont expanding parking by about 50%. Educational offerings grew about 32%. Winter Tree Walk February 28; Children’s Farm open house March 25.
Amy Robins: property tax relief for elderly and disabled—paperwork due March 31; neighborhood yard sale in April with ad space in the Richmond Times-Dispatch.
General Community Notes
- Sidewalk construction continues with priority on Dakota and Nevada cross streets; Pennsylvania Avenue work halted due to trees.
- Riverview Park playground slated to open in the fall; Civic League voted to hold a block party when the park/playground opens.
- Civic League to consider re-forming a Welcome and Remembrance Committee.
- Alley cleanup for 2017 discussed; volunteer list requested; date TBD.
